"Friendly, Safe, Stimulating and Quality Play Opportunities for Children and Young People"
Due to popular demand linked to this page are a number of recipes that we have used over the years during children and youth projects.
The first two recipes are for a sponge cake or fruit cake using different size tins, all of which we have used at some point over the last 5 years. One of our original volunteers, Jill Hancock kindly donated the matrix.
We started the holiday projects with bread making and afternoon tea cakes and biscuits. The white loaf was adapted from Delia Smith’s basic recipe and the Soda bread with fruit was adapted from a recipe from the BBC website. The afternoon tea cakes and biscuits were adapted from the Hairy Bikers programme "Mum knows best".
As always we have had to adapt numerous family favourites so that the children and young people can make at least 2 products each day, during the holiday activities. All the recipes linked to this page have been tried and tested and work using our fan assisted oven therefore any temperatures may have to be adapted to suite your own appliance.
Our favourite websites are The BBC, Delia Smith, The Hairy Bikers and the latest find is a wonderful website www.taste.com.au/recipes a number of which we are currently sampling.
